ASTRONITE®

The ASTRONITE® brand of elastomers is specially designed and formulated to meet the unique challenges of the space sector.  The brand itself is designed to incorporate a wide range of materials, ranging from those used in propulsion systems to profile seals that must seal at low temperatures.  ASTRONITE® is unique in the fact that it forgoes the typical carbon black reinforcement (which is incompatible with many aspects of the space sector) but retains the level of mechanical properties required to function.

FEATURES:

• Materials formulated with all environmental considerations in mind including particle-free material grades

• Materials are tested to ensure operation at the target temperature

• Material grades available with resistance to hydrazine-based rocket fuel

• Resistant to oxidation and ozone ageing as well as gamma and ultra-violet radiation

• Operational at temperatures as low as -50 °C
