SPACE

One of the greatest feats achieved by humans are expeditions off of our planet.  Having spread to all areas of our home, we of course turned our eyes skyward and into space.  It is the technology of the future that will make journeys and expeditions off of our planet more possible, all the way down to each individual component.

Rubberatkins’ success with elastomers involved in propulsion systems and satellites is constantly challenging the boundaries of existing materials to allow them to better cope with the harsh environment of outer space. 

Severe cold temperatures and radiation exposure are two such aspects of space that must be addressed if elastomers are to provide long-term sealing solutions.

To date, Rubbeeratkins has supplied various rubber diaphragms designed and manufactured for full compatibility with hydrazine rocket fuel and now seeks to explore the exciting opportunities that outer space has to offer.

SEMICONDUCTOR

The conditions required to manufacture semiconductors are some of the most aggressive that can be found in manufacturing. Elastomeric components are required to have high chemical and plasma resistance, while also boasting extremely high levels of purity.

The polymers alone however are not enough to withstand the harsh environments and must be formulated with carefully selected filler materials. Rubberatkins’ compounding expertise delivers bespoke VERMANITE® materials that can meet the challenges of the fabrication plant manufacturing environment while preventing common issues caused by impurities, plasma, and chemical attack.
